When Uncharted Agreement Between Sony and Netflix Will Be Available

The Uncharted movie is, of course, based on the various Uncharted games, developed and published by the game studio Naughty Dog (aka The Last of Us). Uncharted has been the so-called 'PlayStation exclusive' for years, meaning games won't be released for Xbox. However, the story is on its way to the big screen: the film opens in theaters on February 10, 2022.

Synopsis: In Uncharted, young and agile adventurer and treasure hunter Nathan Drake (Netherlands) embarks on an adventure for the first time! He does it along with his partner, lolbroek Victor 'Sully' Sullivan (Wahlberg). The two make a perilous journey around the world in search of "the greatest treasure that has never been found". At the same time, Nathan and Sully track down Nathan's missing brother.

'Uncharted Agreement' Between Sony and Netflix'

Now the question arises: Will Uncharted also be on Netflix? The answer to that question is yes'. Some time ago, Sony rights holders concluded a so-called 'exclusive agreement' with the streaming service: this means that several movies from the Japanese conglomerate's catalog will come to Netflix. Uncharted is part of that, we've known for a while.

The aforementioned agreement works as follows: Sony has its own cinema with Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE). Netflix may be the first streaming service to decide whether to stream a movie or not. That deal will start in 2022 and at least the movies that will be watched (aside from Uncharted and the Spider-Man franchise) are Morbius, Where the Crawdads Sing and Bullet Trains. These movies will be shown in theaters first, and then Netflix will be the first streaming service authorized to buy the movie. What follows is an exclusive eighteen-month window.
